Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001 Hazard: LIFTING

Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which was free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: (a) Residential construction: Employees exposed to a fall of approximately 20 feet while working from a man basket which was not equipped with a complete guard-rail system. (b) Residential construction: Employees exposed to hazards such as but not limited to falls while working from a man basket which is not attached to the forks or carriage. Among other methods , one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard while using an all terrain forklift for lifting personnel is to follow the requirements set forth in the ASME B56.6-2002ts
