Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to crushing hazards between the skid-steer bucket and frame: (a) For an employee that was caught between skid-steer bucket and frame while working 11 miles east and 3 miles north of Crosby, ND, while performing maintenance on an oil well site. Abatement Note: Among other methods, the following are feasible and acceptable abatement methods to correct the hazards: 1. Utilize a scaffold or a ladder as an elevated work platform. 2. Follow the manufacturer's guidelines which state "Never go under or reach under lift arms or lift cylinder without an approved lift arm stop".
