SCRR 71-112A: Failed to furnish a place of employment which is free of recognized hazards which may cause death or serious physical harm to his employees and comply with this regulation and other occupational safety and health rules and regulations promulgated under Chapter 15 of Title 41, Code of Laws, State of South Carolina, 1976, as amended, as follows: A. Employer knew or should have known that employees working from 20-foot extension ladder at Keller Mill Rd. were exposed to the hazard of falling off the ladder. A feasible and useful means of abatement, among others, is to have employees trained by a competent person on ladder safety in the following areas, as applicable: 1) The proper use, placement, and care in handling of ladders. 2) The maximum intended load-carrying capacity of ladders being used. B. Employer knew or should have known that employees working on a 10-foot high roof at Keller Mills Rd. were exposed to the hazard of falling off the roof. A feasible and useful means of abatement, among others, is to train employees by a competent person in fall protection in the following areas: 1) The nature of fall hazards in the work area. 2) The proper use, operation, and maintenance of fall protection or fall arrest systems to be used.
