Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001 Hazard: FALLING
North Carolina General Statute 95-129(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of North Carolina: The employer did not furnish each of his employees conditions of employment and a place of employment free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to falls: a)site - employees were exposed to unprotected fall hazards when utilizing orange heavy duty electrical extension cord and green flexible cable, Genesis, #50502X4PR24CAT5e+ 2X/8AWG as guys, ties and bracing for tubular welded frame scaffolds extended to a height of approximately 28 feet above the lower ground level when installing brick veneer on the exterior face of a condominium building. One feasible and acceptable abatement method, among others, to correct this hazard is to install and utilize appropriately designed and manufactured guys, ties and/or braces in accordance with the manufacturers requirements and/or recommendations. or in the Alternative: 29CFR 1926.451(a)(1)
