Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to the hazard of burns and or electrocution: a)Tippen Grove - Grove # 3 - Block 314 - Row 14 - Highlands County Line Road - Arcadia, Florida 33821 Employee was raising a metal ladder in an upright position against a tree, within 10' of overhead powerlines, when the ladder came into contact with a 13,200 volt overhead electrical powerline, completing the electrical circuit, on or about 07/08/04. ONE FEASIBLE AND ACCEPTABLE METHOD OF ABATEMENT WOULD BE TO: 1. Use only non-conductive ladders in and around groves where powerlines exist.
