Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to being crushed by a forklift: AMONG OTHER METHODS, ONE FEASIBLE AND ACCEPTABLE ABATEMENT METHOD TO CORRECT THIS HAZARD IS: a) Install a seatbelt kit to the company's forklift: Toyota Forklifts has a seatbelt system available for the model of forklift owned by the employer. This seatbelt assembly may be acquired by contacting the local Toyota Forklift dealer or representative. ABATEMENT VERIFICATION IS REQUIRED PER 29 CFR 1903.19D
