Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001 Hazard: FALLING
Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to FALL HAZARDS: a)Hanger #3, on or about 2/9/05: An employee in the cargo bay of a jet airline, was exposed to fall hazards approximately 10 feet above the floor level. Among other methods, feasible and acceptable abatement methods to correct these hazards are to: 1)Position a wide mobile ladder stand at the cargo opening. 2)Keep the cargo door closed when employees are working in the cargo area. Abatement certification must be submitted for this item.
