Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001 Hazard: LIFTING
Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to the hazard of being struck by the load: a)On or about 9/15/04, Delivery Vehicle #16: The yellow, below the hook lifting device had no load capacity markings and had no inspections performed. The lifting device had a cracked weld. Among other methods, feasible and acceptable abatement methods to correct these hazards are to: 1.Mark the rated load of the lifting device on the main structure or equivalent in accordance with ANSI B30.20-1993 Section 20-1.2.1 2.Perform inspections as required in accordance with ANSI B30.20- 1.3.1. Abatement certification must be submitted for this item.
