Labor and Employment Article, Section 5-104(a), Annotated Code of Maryland: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees: (a)Date of Violation:On or about 04/22/04 Location:Lot 31 Condition:Employee was exposed to being struck by a collapsing wood roof truss system as the trusses were not properly braced to prevent their collapse. Among others, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is to follow the design and installation recommendations for temporary bracing of roof trusses of the Truss Plate Institutes HIB-91 "Summary Sheet" or BWT-76 "Bracing Wood Trusses" pamphlet. Abatement documentation (photographs, receipts, copies of programs, training certification, etc.) is required for this item.
