Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001 Hazard: LIFTING
29 CFR 1910.5(a)(1) a.Midwest Industrial Castings located in Minster, Ohio. On or about January 6, 2005, an employee working near the Pangborn shot blast machine was struck on the head by a suspended parts basket. The overhead crane was lifting a casting out of a parts basket which was suspended from a monorail hoist. As the casting was being lifted it caught on the parts basket and lifted the parts basket out of it's suspension hook. The moonrail hook was not equipped with a safety latch to prevent the displacement of the load. In accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(c), abatement certification is required for this violation (using the CERTIFICATION OF CORRECTIVE ACTION WORKSHEET).ON
