Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001 Hazard: LIFTING
Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to hazards associated with vehicle rollover: Employees, through out the site, who were operating equipment such as, but not limited to, a Caterpillar 966F, ID# 37-1684, Front-End Loader were exposed to hazards associated with vehicle rollover. The employer did not ensure the equipment was marked with the new lifting capacity when the equipment's front end attachment was modified. One method of abatement may be to include a load capacity chart inside the vehicle indicating the lifting capacity for the front end modification.
