NMAC 50-9-5a Employer did not furnish to each of his employees, employment and a place of employment which was free from recognized hazards that are likely to cause death or serious physical harm to his employees. Employees are exposed to the hazard of a pin keeper missing from the pin in one leg of the derrick as required by API RP 54, 2nd edition, 1992 possibly leading to partial derrick failure. One feasible and acceptable abatement method includes but is not limited to insertion of the keeper and a more thorough inspection of the rig during assembly to insure all pins and keepers are in place.
