Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001 Hazard: CUTS
Section 5(a)(1) of the occupational safety and health act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to impalement hazards when the threaded anchor bolts in the foundation wall were not protected: Location - Foundation Wall: The employees were exposed to the hazards of impalement while walking or working near the foundation wall with exposed anchor bolts protruding the concrete approximately six-inches. One method of abatement, among others, is to install industry recognized protective rebar caps over the anchor bolts to prevent cuts, scratches, abrasions and impalement.
