Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to the hazard of being struck by a falling vehicle: a.On or about December 06, 2004, in the maintenance shop, a Chevrolet 2500 H/D 3/4-ton pick-up truck was not properly placed on the automotive lift, exposing employees to the hazard of being struck by a falling vehicle. Among other means of abatement, one feasible means of abatement would be to follow the American National Standard "Standard for Automotive Lifts-Safety Requirements for Operation, Inspection and Maintenance" ANSI/ALI ALIOM- 2000 guidelines and the manufacturer's reccommendations for lift pad placement. ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION IS REQUIRED.TION
