Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001 Hazard: UNAPEQUIP
Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to operating a defective truck that needed repair: a.On or about November 2, 2004, the Chevrolet C50 Refueling truck was missing the driver side door and the operator was not being required to wear the seat belt. b.On or about November 2, 2004, the Chevrolet C50 refueling truck had a rag stuffed in the fuel tank filler neck. c.On or about November 2, 2004, the Chevrolet C50 refueling truck brakes were worn and needed to be repaired. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable method to correct these hazards is to install a new driver side door, purchase and use a fuel cap for the fuel tank filler neck, and repair the worn brakes. ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION IS REQUIRED.TION
