Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1910: The employer did not furnish a place of employment which was free of recognized hazards that were likely to cause serious physical harm or death in that employees were exposed to potential struck-by hazards by: a)Shop Area - Coffin 1/4 ton hoist was mounted on an inverted crane hook which would not keep the hoist support from coming off. Among feasible abatement methods would be to comply with the American National Standards Institute, B30.16, Underhung Hoists, Section 16-1.3.2 and provide a support that is designed for the rated load of the crane or hoist. CERTIFICATION REQUIRED FOR THIS ITEM.
