Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to the hazard of being struck by high pressure air and/or flying debris: a)West, north and east walls, fork lift repair shop - Frontier Equipment - 1905 Madison Avenue, Nampa, ID; The employer did not prevent the use of schedule 40 PVC for supplying high pressure air for employees to power tools and equipment exposing them to the hazard of being struck by compressed air and flying debris. b)All walls of warehouse and race car shop - Frontier Equipment - 1905 Madison Avenue, Nampa, ID; The employer did not prevent the use of schedule 40 PVC for supplying high pressure air for employees to power tools and equipment exposing them to the hazard of being struck by compressed air and flying debris. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable method to correct this hazard is to replace all PVC piping and fittings with steel or copper piping and fittings. Note: Abatement certification or documentation is NOT required for this item.
