Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to struck by hazard from falling objects: (a) Bindery Department- The overhead conveyor system was not equipped with a spill guard, pan guard, or similar device as prescribed by the American National Standards for Conveyors, ANSI B20.1-1990, section 5.9.2(c), to prevent parts from falling onto personnel who use the working areas directly below the conveyors. Abatement documentation is required for this item in accordance with the requirements of 29 CFR 1903.19(d)
