Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm in that employees were exposed to being struck by a forklift truck: (a) ESTABLISHMENT YARD -- ONE (1) CATERPILLAR 90, MODEL GPL40, SERIAL #ICM03012 AND ONE (1) TOYOTA, MODEL 03-3FG35, SERIAL #3FG3511585 FORKLIFT TRUCKS DID NOT HAVE BACKUP ALARMS, EXPOSING EMPLOYEE(S) TO POSSIBLE MULTIPLE INTERNAL INJURIES AND/OR FRACTURES IN THE EVENT OF AN ACCIDENT WHILE OPERATING IN REVERSE IN A BUSY LUMBER YARD. AMONG OTHER METHODS, ONE FEASIBLE AND ACCEPTABLE ABATEMENT METHOD TO CORRECT THIS HAZARD WOULD BE TO INSTALL BACKUP ALARMS ON THESE FORKLIFT TRUCKS.T
