Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001 Hazard: FALLING
Section 5(a)1 of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish to each of his employees employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to the hazard of falling from the back of a speeding truck: On or about 12/02/03 two employees were observed standing on the back of a truck that was travelling at a speed of approximately 70 miles per hour. Among other methods, one means of abatement includes, but is not limited to: 1. Prohibit employees from standing on the back of a moving vehicle. PLEASE NOTE: CERTIFICATION AND DOCUMENTATION OF ABATEMENT IS REQUIRED FOR THIS VIOLATION.
