Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001 Hazard: CRUSHING
Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to the hazard of being crushed: (a) Location - 1897 Washington Street, Auburndale, MA: On or about 08/12/04 and before, the employees were exposed to the hazard of being crushed by the tractor or tractor attachment while operating the Massey Ferguson Tractor without the rollover protection in place and not using seat belts. Among other methods, feasible and acceptable, to correct this hazard, include but not limited to: a) Training and enforcement on the use of seat belts and rollover protection per the manufacturers operating instructions: b) Utilize operating instructions as specified by International Standard ISO5395 for tractors with attachments.l
