Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001 Hazard: LIFTING
Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: (a) The hazard of falling approximately 13 feet to ground below while working from a metal platform raised by a Manitou, all terrain forklift at a construction site located at 33 Larkspur Drive in Colstrip, Montana. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard while using an all terrain forklift for lifting personal is to follow the requirements set forth in the ASME B56.6-1992 and ASME B56.6a-1994.
