Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that: On or about October 22, 2002, and times prior thereto, employees of Ad Graphics, Ltd.; Victoria, Texas were overexposed to carbon monoxide (CO) from the use of a propane fueled power industrial lift truck inside the Web Press Room Area, which was not adequately ventillated. The exhaust from the lift truck collected within the confines of the area and the exposed employees were admitted to the hospital with a blood carboxyl-hemoglobin (HbCo) of 11.6 Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is to adequately ventilate the Web Press Area Room.
