Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to amputation and/or crushing injuries from inadvertent start-up: (a)Screening Area - The foot pedals on the crimper and notcher, did not have protection to prevent unintended operation from falling or moving objects or by accidental stepping onto the pedals, on or about March 4, 2004. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard includes installing protection over the foot pedals to prevent unintended operation. VERIFICATION REQUIREDTION
