North Carolina General Statute 95-129(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of North Carolina: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: a)facility wide -- the combined loads of associated hoists on one monorail exceeded the rated load of the respective monorail. REFERENCE: ANSI B30.11-1980, Section 11-1.1, Paragraph 11-1.1.2, Rated Load Markings - Monorails. NOTE:Among other feasible and acceptable methods of abatement of this hazard is to remove the additional hoists for each monorail thereby reducing the potential amount of weight that could be carried on each monorail.
