Labor and Employment Article, Section 5-104(a): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees: (a)Date of Violation:08/16/02 Condition:Employees unloading slabs of natural and manufactured stone from delivery trucks were not trained how to safely remove the unsecured slabs of stone from the vehicle to prevent a shift in the weight of the load and subsequent uncontrolled movement of the stone slabs. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable method of abatement is to develop and implement safe work procedures for the unloading of stone slabs from the delivery vehicle. Abatement documentation (photographs, receipts, copies of programs, training certification, etc.) is required for this item.
