Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employmnent and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: a) Numerous locations on the 500 and 2000 pound production lines - On or about May 13, 2003, at various stages along the production lines, employees rolled sections of pipe by hand, where they could have their hands struck by or caught between pipe. AMONG OTHER METHODS, FEASIBLE AND ACCEPTABLE ABATEMENT METHODS TO CORRECT THIS HAZARD ARE: 1. TO INSTALL SPACERS BETWEEN THE PIPE CASINGS 2. DIFFERENT MEANS OF MATERIAL HANDLING 3. HAND TOOLS TO KEEP HANDS OUT OF ZONE OF DANGER
