Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: being struck in the head by BMC doors that are not equipped with a safety clip. a)Forbell Street Location. Employees are exposed to the hazard of being struck by BMC doors that are not equipped with safety clips which are specifically designed to hold the door open, on or about 1/1/02 through 5/22/02. Abatement note: One feasible means of abatement is to inspect BMC containers for missing safety clips as per the Intra BMC Container Lightweight Handbook MS-70 Page A-2. NOTE: THE EMPLOYER IS REQUIRED TO SUBMIT ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION FOR THIS ITEM, FAILURE TO COMPLY WILL RESULT IN AN ADDITIONAL PENALTY OF $1,000.00 AS PER 29 CFR 1903.19.0
