Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish a place of employment which was free from recognized hazards that were likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that an employee was standing on the midrail, while straddling the toprail of a scissor lift. Rockford, Il. jobsite - Employee working from a self-propelled scissors lift 18 feet above grade was standing on the top rail during building construction. Among feasible means of abatement would be to comply with American National Standards Institute, ANSI A92.6-1999 for Self-Propelled Elevating Work Platforms. NO CERTIFICATION REQUIRED FOR THIS ITEM.
