Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001 Hazard: FALLING
Title 40.1-51.1.(a), Code of Virginia: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that: (a) At this job site, employees were exposed to impalement hazards, while working over and adjacent to approximately 18 unprotected metal form pins, onto and into which employees could fall on or come against, which were protruding 4 to 20 inches above the ground and batter boards. "ONE FEASIBLE AND ACCEPTABLE ABATEMENT METHOD, AMONG OTHERS, TO CORRECT THIS HAZARD IS TO INSTALL PLASTIC REBAR CAPS OR EQUIVALENT PROTECTION ON THE PROTRUDING FORM PINS".
