Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001 Hazard: EXPLOSION
A.R.S.23-403 (A): The employer did not furnish to each of his/her employees employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or were likely to cause death or serious physical harm to his/her employees from approximately 100 feet of PVC pipe that was being used to transport compressed air. Manufacturers and associations for manufacturers of thermoplastic piping state that, unless specifically designed for such use, thermoplastic piping must not be used to transport compressed air unless it is installed below ground or is encased in shatter-resistant materials: a) 800 California Ave., Parker, AZ - Service Shop: Approximately 100 feet of PVC was being used for the transportation of compressed air at 110 psi.
