North Carolina General Statute 95-129(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of North Carolina: The employer did not furnish to each of his employees conditions of employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely cause death or serious physical harm to employees: a)facility - it was found that the hoist in the assembly area has not been inspected prior to put in service and that periodic inspections were not done to insure compliance with acceptable industry standard. b)facility - it was found that the hoist in the old file room area has not been inspected prior to put in service and that periodic inspections were not done to insure compliance with acceptable industry standard. REFERENCE: Ansi B30.11-1998: 11-2.2.2 Load test (a) New, reinstalled, altered, repaired, and modified equipment should be load tested and inspected. NOTE: One feasible and acceptable means of abatement is to have the system load tested.
