Section 6(a) of the Puerto Rico Occupational Safety and Health Act: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: Seccion 6(a) de la Ley de Seguridad y Salud en el Trabajo de Puerto Rico: El patrono no proveyo empleo y un sitio de empleo libre de riesgos reconocidos que esten causando o que puedan causar muerte o dano fisico a los empleados, por cuanto empleados estaban expuestos a: a)Workplace - During laboratory analysis duties employees handled some chemical products such as: acetone, sulfuric acid, hydrochloric acid, acetaldehyde and other. Emergency eye/body wash unit was not activated weekly to flush the line and verify proper operation. Hazard: eye and skin damage. Reference: ANSI Z358.1-1990 for Emergency Eyewash and Shower Equipment. a)Lugar de trabajo - Durante trabajos de analisis de laboratorio empleados manejaron algunos productos quimicos tales como: acetona, acido sulfurico, acido clorhidrico, acetaldehido y otras. Estacion de lavado de emergencia de ojos/cuerpo no fue activada semanalmente para enjuagar la linea y para verificar su operacion correcta. Riesgo: dano de ojos y piel. Referencia: ANSI Z358.1-1990 "For Emergency Eyewash and Shower Equipment."
