Section 5(a)(1) of Public Law 91-596, the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees, in that employees were exposed to: Hazard of Fall. (a)George County All-Purpose Building - Employees were observed to be accessing the roof of the building by standing on the forks of an Angus Palm Skytrak Rough Terrain Forklift (Serial #59 Model #B8400), being elevated and then stepping off onto the 17 foot level of the open roof by standing on the forks of the lift. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable method to corrcet hazard is to prohibit employees from standing on forks of the forklift.
