Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001 Hazard: STRUCK BY
Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to the hazard of being struck by a tow hook while attempting to free a concrete mixer truck that was stuck in the sand at a jobsite located near 1100 Santa Fe, Weatherford, TX. Some feasible and acceptable methods to correct this hazard are: 1. Use the proper bolts for attaching tow hooks to concrete mixer trucks. 2. Ensure that employees are not between concrete mixer trucks when towing stuck trucks. 3. Consider using tow trucks to get concrete mixer trucks unstuck.
