North Carolina General Statute 95-129(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of North Carolina: The employer did not furnish to each of his employees conditions of employment and a place of employment free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees, in that employees were exposed to: a)worksite - an automotive lift was operated while a hydraulic over air leak existed in the lifting system. Wooden post ( 4" x 4") were used to shore up the raised lift and load exposing the employee to a crushing hazard. [A feasible and acceptable means of abatement would be to adhere to the following ANSI Standard: ANSI B153.1-1990, Section 7.1.2, "The owner/employer shall maintain and care for the lift to ensure its continued safe operation."]er
