Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001 Hazard: LACKTRAIN
Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish to each of his employees a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or were likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to a caught-in-between hazard: On or about 03/08/02, employees were exposed to a caught-in-between hazard while working on a wood chipper without having received proper training on the safe operation and servicing of the machine. Among other methods of abatement, a feasible and acceptable method to correct this hazard from occurring again, is to have employees trained on the safe operating and servicing procedures, and have an operator's manual available on site. PLEASE NOTE: CERTIFICATION OF ABATEMENT IS REQUIRED FOR THIS VIOLATION.
