Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety & Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees, in that, employees were exposed to falls from the lift toppling due to field modification which can cause eccentric loading: Location: 536 Granite Street, Braintree, MA. Front of the building adjacent to Granite Street. Two 2x4's were cantilevered out beyond the platform perimeter of a JGL 660SJ extensible boom lift, in order to lift six sheets of sheetrock to the roof of the four story building. One feasible method of abatement, among others, would be to receive prior written approval for all modifications prior to commencing work.ncing
