P.L. 91-596 Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to the hazard(s) of: Public Law 91-596 Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to the hazards of falling through deteriorated platforms: A) Paper Machine No. 7, drive side, fan deck level. The platform leading from the fan deck to the dryer hood inspection door at the Breaker Stack was deteriorated, on or about 02/15/2001. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable method to correct these hazards is to: 1. Prevent employee access to known or suspected deteriorated platforms. 2. Locate and replace all deteriorated platforms. 3. Develop and implement a program to periodically inspect and evaluate the condition of platforms.
