Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001 Hazard: FALLING
Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to slip and fall hazard from damaged ladder: (a)On or about 6/29/00 in the Warehouse; two mobile ladder stands, one yellow and one orange, had a missing rubber feet that act as the brake mechanism when employees' climb up them. Feasible abatement methods used to correct the hazard, among others, is 1) the replacement of the rubber feet; and 2) the implementation of an inspection and maintenance program to include the essential items outlined in American National Standards Institute A92.1-197 ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION REQUIREDATION
