Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees. On or about October 25, 2001, and November 21, 2001, employees were exposed to the hazard of equipment failure associated with the Horizontal Injection Molding Machines, in that Plastech Exterior Systems, Inc. did not institute a policy and procedure for conducting periodic and regular inspections of the Horizontal Injection Molding Machines. Feasible means of abatement could have been achieved by establishing a complete program of periodic and regular inspections of Horizontal Injection Molding Machines in accordance with ANSI/SPI B151.1 1997 section 4.3. Additional abatement information is required for this item.
