Title 21 VSA Chapter 3, Sub chapter 5, Section 223a of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that, employees were exposed to: an unguarded opening between the planer exit feed rolls and the feed rolls leading to the stacking chain. Location: Planer room at the exit feed of the planer and the rolls leading to the stacking chain. Violation; The opening between the planer exit feed rolls and the stacking chain feed rolls, measuring 24 inches wide and used by employees as a means of access to the entrance of the planer room, was unguarded and exposed employees to accidental contact with lumber rapidly moving along the rolls.
