Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001 Hazard: FALLING
Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to a fall hazard. a) 228 Strawbridge Drive, Moorestown, NJ 08054 - A Rooftop Roller supporting a boatswain's chair was being moved over a rough surface while an employee was suspended from it. The employee was exposed to a fall of approximately 35'. On or about 11/14/01. One feasible and acceptable abatement method is to only move mobile devices over level surfaces. In this instance, a level surface could have been provided by placing plywood sheeting over the portion of the roof where the Rooftop Roller was to be moved.
