North Carolina General Statute 95-129(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of North Carolina: The employer did not furnish to each of his employees conditions of employment and a place of employment free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees, in that employees were exposed to: a)job site - scissors type roof trusses, 48 feet long, were being installed by employees without proper temporary bracing, thus contributing to the collapse of the roof trusses on 05/17/00. (Reference 1991 Truss Plate Institute, Handling Installing & Bracing Metal Plate Connected Wood Trusses, HIB-91, Section 13.1) b)Job Site - roof trusses in excess of 30 feet (48 feet) long were being lifted by the peak, weakening truss strength. (Reference 1991 Truss Plate Institute, HIB-91 Summary Sheet, Frame 2) Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is to install the roof trusses according to the Truss Plate Institutes recommendations.$yy$\
