Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employmnent and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to being crushed by forklift in the event of a rollover: a)Warehouse:Employees not required to wear seatbelts while operating forklifts. Violation observed on or about 11/21/00. ABATEMENT NOTE:AMONG OTHER MEANS, ONE FEASIBLE AND ACCEPTABLE METHOD TO CORRECT THIS HAZARD WOULD BE FOR THE COMPANY TO REQUIRE EMPLOYEES TO UTILIZE THE SEATBELTS AND ENFORCE THE PROCEDURE.
