Title 40.1-51.1.(a), Code of Virginia: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that: At the loading dock of a grocery store under construction,( located at 6351 Columbia Pike, Falls Church, Va. this employer had a employee exposed to a fall hazard/ and or struck by hazard due to having this employee attempting to load a Calavar Corporation Condor Model 2532 Self-Propelled, Articulating Work Platform, Scaffold, S/N X835-1791 unto a GMC Flat bed truck, license number 12-740, that did not have it's wheels chocked. "ONE FEASIBLE AND ACCEPTABLE ABATEMENT METHOD, AMONG OTHERS, TO CORRECT THIS HAZARD IS: To properly chock the wheels of the truck before attempting to load such equipment onto the truck, "as recognized and required by 1910.178(k)(1); which states that the brakes of highway trucks shall be set and wheel chocks placed under the rear wheels to prevent the trucks from rolling while they are boarded with powered industrial trucks.ial
