Section 5(A)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish to each of his employees employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or were likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that the suspension line and lifeline of a boatswain's chair were unsecurely attached to the same fence post which was not a substantial anchorage point,thereby exposing employees to the hazard of falling. Location: 7300 19 St. Miami,Fl. On or about 10/10/00 the employer had not trained employees in the use of equipment, did not inspect equipment, and did not supervise the use of equipment to insure that safe working practices were observed according to the ANSI A-10.8: Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable method to correct this hazard is to implement the requirements pertaining to employee instruction and supervision in the safe use of scaffold equipment and inspection of all scaffold components prior to use, as listed under the American National Standards Institute (ANSI)A-10.8, Scaffolding- Safety Requirements.
