Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001 Hazard: UNAPEQUIP
Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: a. On or about August 23, 2000, at the job site located at 1040 North Lake Shore Drive, Chicago, Illinois 60611, the employer did not determine the cause of power failure on the two motors used to operate the two-point suspension scaffold before their employee reset the circuit breaker as required by the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA 70E Part 2, 4-2.2) for Safety-Related Equipment and Work Practices. Feasible means of abatement include, but not limited to: 1. Remove equipment from service until it has been determined that the equipment and circuit can be safely energized.
