Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: a)Jobsite: The employer did not provide training for the employees engaged in tree trimming operations, to insure that the employees are aware of the hazards associated with their work environment, on or about 6-13-00. ABATEMENT NOTE: Among other methods, one feasible abatement method to reduce these hazards is to provide training and information to employees in a carefully planned out manner prior to any tree work and brush clearing, such as specified in American National Standard Institute (ANSI Z133.1-1994).
