Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to being struck by building material: a.On or about July 6, 1999, wood trusses, weighing up to 450 pounds each, were inadequately braced, exposing employees to the hazard of being struck by the collapsing building. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is to install temporary bracing according to the truss component manufacturer's specifications, or according to the Truss Plate Institute guidelines "HIB-91". ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION IS REQUIRED.TION
